Biography

Magda Colta is a graduate of Resurrection University where she earned both her undergraduate nursing degree and master’s degree in nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner. She has graduated with honors and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. Magda began her nursing career on a medical surgical unit at St. Francis hospital in Evanston. She then transitioned to critical care nursing and floated between the emergency department and intensive care department. During her time at St. Francis, she established and managed a rapid response team. Later she developed an interest in oncology and joined the Cancer Services team at Northwest Community Healthcare where she assumed the role of lung cancer nurse navigator and managed the Lung Nodule Clinic. Most recently Magda practiced as urgent care nurse practitioner at Midwest Express Clinic. She was nominated by her peers and patients and was the recipient of Nurse of the Year Award as well as The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

Magda is married and enjoys backcountry hiking/camping, cycling and gardening.
