Prior to moving back to Chicago in 2006, Dr. Mirza was an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at University of Missouri, Columbia, with a special interest in Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer and Lymphomas.

He has authored and published multiple articles in respected national journals and was a guest editor for a national peer review journal. He has been an invited guest speaker at multiple national and international conferences. Dr. Ciobanu achieved her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara in Romania where she also completed a 5-year Internal Medicine/Hematology fellowship in 2002. Throughout the years, she has been involved in academic teaching, basic science and clinical studies as well as quality improvement and patient safety projects. She contributed to organizing several cancer awareness and patient survivorship programs. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, biking and skiing.
